Collective Media is a dynamic professional practice group within the broader Common Collective at Emerson College, dedicated to producing high-quality video content that makes a positive impact on society. Our mission is to empower students to tell compelling stories through the medium of video, offering opportunities to create content that resonates and drives change. We welcome all members of the Emerson community who are passionate about storytelling, filmmaking, and media production, regardless of their level of experience.

What We Do

At Collective Media, we focus on producing a wide range of video content, from digital storytelling and short-form videos to full-length documentaries and narrative films. Our emphasis is on projects that address pressing social issues, providing a platform for voices that need to be heard. However, we are also open to exploring all genres and styles of content, allowing our members the creative freedom to pursue projects that inspire them. Our aim is to help students develop their skills, from conceptualization and scriptwriting to filming and editing, ensuring they gain hands-on experience in every aspect of video production.

Members of Collective Media benefit from access to professional-grade equipment and software, as well as guidance from experienced mentors. We provide comprehensive training sessions to help our members understand the technical and creative aspects of video production. Additionally, we assist with assembling production teams, ensuring that each project is supported by a talented and motivated crew. Whether you're interested in directing, cinematography, editing, or producing, Collective Media offers the resources and support you need to bring your vision to life and make a meaningful contribution to the world through media.
