Its great to learn a new skill.
Its even better to actually use it.

Collectivists from Emerson College apply their communication and artistic skills to create content for selected non-profits in the Boston area.
We learn through work experience, and add to our portfolios with projects that help to make the world a better place.

How We Got Our Start
Students at Emerson College were frustrated by how difficult it was to access the tools required for success as communication professionals. Those not enrolled in Visual Media Arts found it difficult to access camera equipment, and students from The School of Communications were disappointed by the lack of in-school opportunities to develop the skills they learned in class.
Institutional bureaucracy was getting in the way of student experience.
Rather than sit around complaining, we decided to do something about it.

Common Collective was formed by a group of students and faculty practitioners within Emerson's Department of Communication Studies. Our mission is to enable all members of the Emerson College community to come together and expand their skill set through hands-on experiential learning. Our mottos is: We Get Stuff Done.
Collectivists work in a spectrum of media and formats to produce quality content benefiting organizations that lack the skills or means to be heard. If you're looking for help, hit the button below and we'll be in touch!
